Hampta Pass and Chandratal start mid-month, the Manali–Leh highway and Kunzum La open for Spiti and bike tours, Zanskar becomes reachable, and the pre-monsoon weeks give the clearest skies before July. The first half is school-holiday busy; the second half is quieter.
