Himalayan treks & trips in July 2027
Monsoon strategy: go to the rain-shadow — Spiti, Ladakh, Zanskar, Lahaul
July brings the monsoon to Himachal's lower valleys, but the trans-Himalaya — Spiti, Lahaul, Zanskar and Ladakh — lies in the rain shadow and is bone dry. The Hampta Pass crosses from green Kullu into brown Lahaul in a single day, which is exactly why it's a monsoon classic. Avoid Kinnaur and Kullu road travel in heavy-rain spells.
