1

Assemble at Vashisht village at 10:00 AM. Embark on a scenic 25-minute pine trail hike up towards the lower cliffs of Jogini Waterfall. Inspect the multi-point bolted anchor system and learn friction-braking dynamics using Figure-8 descenders and locking carabiners. Strap on your harness, helmet, and heavy-duty leather rappelling gloves. Hook into the dual-rope system. Trekking Guidelines & Mountain Safety Protocols

Certified procedures by Himalayan Wilderness Leaders & First Responders

Medical Backup On-Trail
1

Brake Hand Rule

The brake hand (holding the rope behind your hip) MUST NEVER leave the rope. It acts as your primary braking control.

2

Body Stance Posture

Keep feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly flexed, and lean back so your body is perpendicular (90°) to the cliff.

cravel.in Wilderness Safety Mandate:Every expedition is equipped with portable medical oxygen cylinders, fingertip pulse oximeters, specialized mountain stretcher gear, and satellite GPS communication checkpoints.

Trail Etiquette: What To Do & What NOT To Do

Essential mountaineering ethics to protect fragile Himalayan ecosystems and ensure a safe summit

✓

What To Do (Trail Do's)

Essential
Trust your harness completely and lean back firmly into empty space
Walk your feet smoothly backward down the rock face step by step
Tie back long hair securely and tuck loose shirts or strings inside your harness
Wear shoes with deep rubber tread that grip well on wet granite
✕

What NOT To Do (Trail Don'ts)

Prohibited
Never let go of your braking rope with your dominant hand
Do not try to stand upright against the cliff as your feet will slip out from under you
Never touch the metal descender device with bare skin as friction creates heat
Do not jump away from the cliff without your instructor’s clearance

Capt. Siddharth R.

"The acclimatization schedule on Mulkila was calculated with extreme surgical precision. Our IMF certified lead captain was constantly checking SpO2 levels and snow anchors. Summit day felt safe despite the 55° ice wall. Best expedition outfit in the Himalayas."

Response from cravel.in Captain

Thank you Siddharth! Safety protocols and gradual altitude gain on the Milang Glacier are our absolute top priority.
