Trekking Guidelines & Mountain Safety Protocols
Certified procedures by Himalayan Wilderness Leaders & First Responders
Acclimatization & AMS Protocol
Ascend steadily. Keep an eye on Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) signals like lingering headaches, dizziness, or nausea. Climb high and sleep low.
Hydration & Electrolytes
Drink 3.5 to 4 Litres of water daily. Dry mountain winds accelerate dehydration. Supplement your flask with ORS or warm Himalayan herbal tea.
3-Layer Clothing Principle
Follow the 3-layer system: breathable moisture-wicking base layer, insulating fleece/down mid-layer, and a seam-sealed windproof outer shell.
Footwear & Ankle Protection
Wear broken-in ankle-support trekking boots with deep lug vibram soles. Carry blister tape, merino wool socks, and UV400 polarized mountain shades.
Trail Etiquette: What To Do & What NOT To Do
