4. High-Altitude Expeditions & Medical Protocols
Expeditions to Leh Ladakh (11,500 ft to 17,982 ft) and Spiti Valley present unique physiological conditions. Travelers must follow all acclimatization recommendations given by our certified mountain captains:
- Mandatory complete rest for the first 24 to 36 hours upon arrival in Leh.
- Hydration with 3 to 4 liters of clean water daily.
- All cravel.in expedition vehicles carry portable medical oxygen cylinders for emergency use.
- Consult your personal physician regarding altitude sickness medications (e.g. Diamox) before embarking.
5. Mountain Pass Closures & Weather (CravelCover Assurance)
In high Himalayan regions, extreme weather (snowstorms, landslides) may occasionally lead authorities to temporarily shut passes such as Khardung La, Chang La, or Zoji La.
Under our complimentary CravelCover Assurance, if a mountain pass is closed due to acts of nature, cravel.in will re-route your itinerary to safe, premium alternative locations at zero additional vehicle surcharge.

Every booking made with cravel.in includes a dedicated, private 4x4 vehicle (Mahindra Scorpio, Toyota Innova, or Force Tempo Traveller for large families) with a certified local chauffeur:
